Legal Office Junior - traineeship

Our client is a successful law firm specialising in immigration, located in Chatswood. This company is seeking a legal office junior (trainee) to join their firm. This would be the ideal opportunity for a recent school leaver with an interest in administration and law. Ideally the successful candidate should have their Higher School Certificate, excellent communication skills, and be bright and eager to learn. A Certificate II in Business would be highly regarded. Previous office experience would be considered advantageous, but not essential.

Duties include:

  • Managing appointments, meeting schedules and calendars for individuals/teams
  • Preparing for and organising meetings
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting and attending to clients and visitors
  • Ordering supplies
  • Collecting and distributing post
  • Sending Statements of Account
  • Receipting and drawing client cheques
  • Creating client invoices
  • Providing administration support to solicitors
  • Ad-hoc administration tasks.

Selection criteria:

  • Attention to detail
  • Professional presentation
  • Polite, friendly and courteous manner
  • Higher School Certificate
  • Certificate II in Business would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient keyboard skills
  • Intermediate ability with Microsoft Work and Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience using MYOB would be preferred
  • Previous experience would be highly regarded.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must not have attained a qualification over a Cert II
  • Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or a New Zealand Citizen that has resided in Australia for more than 6 months.
