Our client is a successful law firm located in Liverpool, and is currently seeking a Trainee Legal Secretary to join their firm. This would be the ideal opportunity for a recent school leaver with an interest in law. Ideally the successful candidate should have their Higher School Certificate, be personable, mature and have strong written and verbal English communication skills.

 

Duties include:

  • Answering phones
  • Managing appointments, meeting schedules and calendars for individuals/teams
  • Preparing and organising meetings
  • Providing administration support to solicitors
  • Greeting and attending to clients and visitors
  • Ordering supplies
  • Collecting and distributing post
  • Sending Statements of Account
  • Receipting and drawing client cheques
  • Creating client invoices
  • Ad-hoc administration tasks.

Selection criteria:

  • Higher School Certificate
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficient keyboard skills
  • Personable and mature temperament
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional presentation
  • Polite, friendly and courteous manner
  • Experience using MYOB would be preferred.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Must not have attained a qualification over a Cert II
  • Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or a New Zealand Citizen that has resided in Australia for more than 6 months.
