Case study: Salvation Army Towards Independence

The Salvation Army Towards Independence project runs a supported accommodation service in Adelaide – transitioning the homeless back into mainstream society and independent living.

The project sourced 22 desktop computers from WorkVentures Connect IT to facilitate counselling and support. WorkVentures also provided network consulting support.

Towards Independence project manager Wayne Lange said he was able to deliver the project due to the reduced cost involved with refurbished PCs. “By using refurbished PCs on our project we were able to do the whole network for less than the cost of buying new PCs alone. Getting funding approved is easier when you can show that such a great project can be done at such a reasonable cost,” he said.
